The Elements

In this section we will discuss The Elements; Earth, Air, Fire & Water. These are the building blocks of our ecosystem AND most Magical Traditions. They give us important information on the energetics of each sign but more than that it shows us how they connect with each other via Trine energy. All the Earth Signs share a vibe as do the Air, Water, & Fire Signs. This vibe reveals how the signs that share the same elements help each other to do that element's WeRK. 

The Elements By Sign

Earth: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn 

Air: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Fire: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

Water: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

There are Four Elements so each is contained in Three Different Signs.

The Four Elements as Seasons. The Solstices & Equinoxes are also connected to elements, tying them also to the Wheel of the Year. Watching how the Seasons change can really help you understand the true vibes of each element AND the roots of the celebrations and rituals attached to them. 

The signs at the four angles are:

Aries | Spring    Cancer | Summer    Libra | Autumn    Capricorn | Winter 

These are the Cardinal Signs and they initiate or start something; in this case they initiate the changing of the seasons.

The Four Elements as Directions.

Air | East      Fire | South     Water | West      Earth | North

The Four Elements in Tarot. 

Air is represented in Tarot as Swords. 

Fire is represented by Wands. 

Water is represented by Cups.

Earth is represented by Pentacles. 

LIST OF GENERAL ELEMENTAL CORRESPONDENCES:

Can you think of any other correspondences to the Elements?  What about inside the Human body? Our Personalities? Moon Phases? Continue to try to make connections between the Elements and the things you're uniquely trained in and/or curious about. Magic and Astrology are both experiential so they ARE correspondences. The more you try to make these connections the deeper your understanding will become. 

Elemental Studies Project Ideas:

Draw your chart with only the elements of the signs. Notice which houses hold which element. Add your planets to see how much more energy you have in one element or another. Do you notice how this relates to your personality? Are you an Earthy or Airy Person?
